The Initial Exam
The most important appointment is the first: The Initial Comprehensive Exam. This is when you meet Dr. Goldstein and discuss your concerns. A thorough evaluation of your mouth includes an Oral Cancer screening, TMJ/temperomandibular joint (jaw) evaluation, Periodontal (gum) exam, Digital Radiographs where indicated, and, of course, a full examination of the teeth. Feel free to bring questions with you, or initiate them during or after the initial comprehensive examination, since this valuable time sets the stage on how you wish to proceed.
